My Story
Jill’s Gypsy Soul, the name of my Scentsy business, began revealing itself to me in September 2018. I was fast approaching my 50th birthday and something deep in my soul said “QUIT THAT FULL TIME JOB!” ... “Slow down and LIVE life, instead of working so hard making someone else’s dreams come true” ... "It's never too late for a new dream"!!! So, as my gift to myself (and with the encouragement, love and support from my husband) December 31, 2018 was my last day in a job I had dedicated myself to and mostly enjoyed for 12 years. I spent ALL of 2019 on the highways and byways (even a flight or two) visiting family and friends, up and down parts of the east coast, travelled to Virginia to spend time with our grandsons every chance I had ... sometimes even staying for weeks on end. The very best part of this “gypsy” experience, which was so good for my soul, was traveling home to Maine eight different times ... and I was able to stay for extended periods of time ... your typical “vacation time” from employers just doesn’t accommodate that well. I had become so homesick, I just needed this in my life and it was EVERYTHING I HAD HOPED FOR!!
Flash forward to January 2020, I was approved to substitute teach at a local preschool. Fun, part time gig, right? I worked 3 days, then my husband and I went on a 3 week vacation for a friend’s military retirement ceremony and festivities, we traveled all over Colorado and Arizona, having a grand time. Then COVID hits the world hard! We returned to Maryland, schools are closed and I have no work, no income and found myself looking at the likelihood of going back to work full time “for someone else”. Until ... I had a Scentsy party.
One of my lifelong friends was my Consultant for that online party. I had to see if I could maybe earn enough host rewards to get a special person a very special gift I otherwise really shouldn’t have spent money on since I wasn’t currently working or earning any extra income for our family. My friend has always been a wonderful, positive, share the love kind of person and she suggested I join her Scentsy team. Initially I felt like there was no way I could “do that” ... WAY OUT OF THIS LADY’S COMFORT ZONE ... and then that amazing supportive husband of mine said ‘Just try it. You’ll never know if you don’t at least try!’ Wise friend, wise husband ... and now here I am ...

WHY, you ask? Simply stated, I have the freedom to work hard to make my own dreams come true. The BEST part ~ I CAN WORK FROM ANYWHERE!!! I am so excited to share Scentsy with the world ~ one sniff at a time if need be!
